History of the Institute

about us

Dublin Swahili Institute was established on November 2009 as an initiative to promote learning, teaching and speaking of Swahili and also Swahili culture in Ireland. Ireland is already a home to many Swahili speakers from Eastern African Countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Democratic Republic of Congo). There are also many Swahili speakers among the Irish people because the Irish people have a long history of visiting and working in East Africa.
